i have msi ge 73 raider rgb 8rf & i checked msi driver & app center then found that intel management engine driver needs update. but wont download because of the app error! tried everything even uninstalling then installing msi driver & app center still wont download the update
so i got to intel website to download it but when ever i click on intel management engine link i get page of "Intel Converged Security and Management Engine Version Detection Tool"! so i downloaded that tool I got a warning that i have problem 7 needs to be fixed by update. the link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000031784/technologies.html
so i clicked on that link & opened an intel support page i tried to understand what is going on & to find a link for update but all they trying to say is that they cant provide other manufacturers update so i need to download it from the manufacturer website. i got to my ge 73 raider rgb 8rf page then drivers download
i noticed something in the link they provide https://download.msi.com/nb_drivers/me/me_Intel(R) CSME_Consumer_12.0.22.1310_1828.12.0.1152_0x0ecdb5ea.zip & in the detection tool it showed the version on my laptop is 12.0.0.1062 so we can confirm that the one on may laptop is old. so i downloaded that 12.0.22.1310 but unfortunately it doesnt have installer so i tried the manual way by going to the devices manager then click on
than update software then i choose "searching for update folder" then going to the folder that i downloaded but then it didn't update & said that it's already have latest update, while it's not!
so i tried to installing by click right then install on the file "heci.inf" in the folder that i downloaded then checked intel management engine driver version still not changed. then the last thing is i tried to copy manually "TeeDriverW8x64.sys" file to (C:\Windows\System32\drivers) & copied with no problems restarted laptop but nothing changed. then i copied manually "64" folder "heci.inf" file "heci.cat" file to (C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\heci.inf_amd64_d99bac925bca26e5) & (C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\heci.inf_amd64_5876ecc7532159d7) manually but it asked for permission! tried that again by safe mode & still asks for permission! so what to do?! i think this need msi employee to solve this
